LifeSpan TR 1200i - Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Operate very smooth and quiet
  • Intelli-Step Counting feature is a very helpful tool to show how many steps you have taken during your walks or runs in order to increase your endurance over time and improve your health.
  • Safety Pause feature automatically stop the treadmill when you no longer step on the belt. This makes you feel peace in mind especially when you have small children in your home.
  • Instead of reaching up to the console while you are training, you just need to touch at accessible buttons on handle bars to change your speed or incline.
  • Have good warranty from the manufacturer
  • Have a nice design and colors and look good in the room.

Cons

  • Speakers don’t have so great sound that is not very bad but not good either.

LifeSpan TR 1200i Treadmill review

Comfort

I am very happy that it is supported by 6 compression shock absorbers to offer safe cushioning for user’s back, knees, and joints. My knees don't feel hurt as they used to on previous treadmills. I can run more miles with better quality training for me, but this is not so padded that it is like running on mush. In the terms of entertainment, with this treadmill you can plug in your favorite MP3 player or your iPod and enjoy your favorite music during walking or running through the console speakers that will help you reduce fatigue and provide more motivation to continue your training process.

Convenience

I feel very convenient when this treadmill can automatically record my exercise data to a USB storage device for upload to my Club account that helps me track my workout easily. It's heavy but one muscular person could move it and assemble it without too much trouble. And when finish training, you can easily fold it up for unobtrusive, compact storage thanks to its EZ fold™ which uses a hydraulic shock to support for folding and unfolding the machine.

I do like the incline and speed buttons located on the side handle bars that allow you to adjust the incline and speed while you are training as well as you can pause or stop it if you want to take a break.

Besides, there are heart rate control features for you to access the heart rate when exercising. I love to read while working out and the machine gives me the opportunity to do this thanks to its magazine/book holder on the dash.

Performance

I really am impressed with this treadmill. The motor runs effortlessly although my 260 pounds is walking on it. In fact, its maximum user weight is up to 300 lbs. It operates smooth and quiet, even at speed up to 5 miles per hour, it is still solid and stable. The shake-free console is also very easy to read.

Additionally, the amount of preprogrammed activities is very great. 22 programmed workouts and 15 levels of incline make the LifeSpan TR 1200i is super adjustable to increase the challenge of user’s workout.

Especially, the incline and speed work very efficiently too. When you adjust the speed, it increases or decreases gradually enough not to threaten to throw you off.

Quality and durability

I have run on this machine just about every day for a couple of months and so far it has worked perfectly. I have to say that this product is indeed built with very quality parts without unnecessary equipment installed but at a price that can’t be beat. The motor is a perfect not only for performance but also for longevity.

Plus, this treadmill is designed with 2-ply belt moving along wide rollers (2.5” front rollers and 2” rear roller) that provides a durable, smooth surface.

Use

The durable 2.5 HP continuous-duty motor combined with a 20" by 56" running surface perfectly handle many different style of exercise, whether walking, jogging, or even running. This is a great treadmill and recommended to anyone whether you are working out at home to train for an intense marathon or lose weight. I'm a big runner at 6'3 and haven't had any problems with this treadmill.

Warranty

This product receives a good warranty from manufacture that gives me peace of mind. You will get lifetime protection on the motor and frame, three years on parts and one year on labor. I believe that with high quality, great build and good warranty, it will last years to come.

Similar models to LifeSpan TR 1200i treadmill

LifeSpan TR3000i treadmill

Generally, the 1200i is very similar to the LifeSpan TR3000i but it is a few hundred dollars cheaper. However, because of having more expensive price, the LifeSpan TR3000i has some better features than the TR1200i such as 2.75 CHP motor which is commercial-grade, top speed up to 12 mph (while the top speed of the TR1200i is just 11mph) or the maximum user weight limit of TR3000i is 350 pounds.

In short, both of them are the great products of LifeSpan, but if you want to have stronger machine for your heavier workouts, the LifeSpan TR3000i is still more highly recommended.

Nautilus T616 treadmill

Nautilus T616 is another similar model of the TR1200i because of their similar general design, features as well as the aim of use. However, Nautilus T616 seems to have expensive price with a stronger 3.0 CHP motor, top speed up to 12 mph, 26 built-in workout programs or a 3-speed adjustable fan etc. if you don’t pay attention too much on price, the Nautilus T616 will be a great replacement for the TR1200i. In order to have more information about this treadmill, please read at Amazon.com or on the website of the manufacturer.

Conclusion

My rating: 8.3/10

LifeSpan TR 1200i Folding Treadmill is indeed a perfect combination of exceptional economy and superior performance.

I highly recommend because of its highlight features such as the variety of programmed workouts, the Intelli-Step design as well as high quality provided by LifeSpan.

In the other words, you will not purchase a better treadmill for this price. I wish that by making this purchase you can meet your fitness goals in your life!
