NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill Review

I’m a runner and after saying good bye to my old machine- Yowza Fitness Daytona Professional which had companied with me for a long time, I wanted to find other model to replace it. I was highly recommended NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill that has a similar price to my old one. After several months of use, I realize that this is also a great option for runner and home use.

NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Description

Motor

The machine comes with 3.8 Continuous Duty HP Motor allows trainees to customize their running routine. It can reach speeds of up to 12 MPH and it is stronger than the 3.0 CHP commercial motor which just reaches speeds of up to 11 MPH on the Yowza Fitness Daytona Professional.

Running Surface

Compared to 55” x 20” running surface on Yowza’s treadmill, the 1750 has more spacious workout surface (22″ x 60″) that makes it suit many types of runner, even large ones.

Runner Flex Adjustable Cushioning

Like other models of Nordic Track, the deck of this model is also equipped with a cushioning system called Runner Flex Adjustable Cushioning in order to provide excellent shock absorption while giving an energy return when user take off. Especially, this system also allows reducing the cushioning to simulate real terrains in case you prefer less shock absorption.

Incline and Decline

NordicTrack is one of the few brands providing a decline feature. 15% incline and 3% decline feature is used to stimulate running up or down hills. The incline and decline of 1750 is automatically adjusted to match the real-world terrain.

Size and weight

The size of the treadmill is 34" W x 72" L x 57" H and its weight is 290 Lbs. It is a little smaller and lighter than my old Yowza Fitness Daytona Professional treadmill but this is a popular size and weight of commercial treadmill models.

Full-color Android touchscreen

The 7” color display on this machine is much more visually appealing than typical ones on other models that I had ever used. With the internet-connected Android touchscreen display, you can directly access the iFit Live features and iFit.com, download custom workout programs, browse your favorite websites and watch videos as you exercise.

iPad Holder

Considered as a convenient feature, iPad Holder is placed strategically above the console in order for users to access the iPad while they are working out. It can be also adjusted for a better viewing angle.

iFit technology

iFit Live allows you to set weight and fitness goals through an iFit.com account where you can monitor your progress and results. This feature also incrementally increases the difficulty with every workout, so you are continually building cardio strength and burning more calories. Additionally, via the machine's iFit technology, any location that has been captured by Google Street View is accessible on the 7-inch touchscreen display. Especially, iFit Live can automatically adjust the incline to simulate the physical features of these terrains.

Sound System and MP3 Input

NordicTrack’s Treadmill has great built-in sound system. It is difficult for you to find the sound clarity of this brand on other ones. You can use this sound system to plug in your iPod or MP3 player to listen your favorite music while you are working out.

Two Cooling Fans

There is the treadmill that doesn’t include cooling fan like ProForm Performance 400i or there are some just have 1 cooling fan such as the NordicTrack C 700, the NordicTrack C 990 or but the 1750 features 2 separate cooling fans to keep user stay cool during training process.

Safety features

A storage latch is designed to make sure the treadmill will not unfold accidentally to cause injury or damage.

Wireless Heart Rate Monitoring

In addition to Dual CardioGrip heart rate monitor sensors built into both handlebars for an accurate, quick reading, the Commercial 1750 also includes a complete Polar® wireless system which will send a continuous reading to the display to keep you stay in your optimal training zone for faster result.

Programs

It is featured with 38 built-in Exercise Programs including programs form calorie, incline, heart rate control and speed workout programs. Besides, you can download more workout programs from trainers that help motivate you during workout.

Warranty

The Commercial treadmill of Nordic Track has a lifetime warranty on motor and frame, 5-year on parts and electronics, and 2-year warranty on labor.

Comfort

I felt very uncomfortable since my strides were limited when running on narrower surface of other treadmills. This reduced my running performance. But with the 22″ x 60″ running surface, this issue is resolved. Now, I feel more comfortable to take long strides. Moreover, I really love the Runner Flex Adjustable Cushioning Deck as I used to love cushion technology on Yowza Fitness Daytona Professional treadmill. But this feature works much better because it not only lets me exercise longer without too much impact put on my joints but also allows me to adjust cushion level to have different running experience at my home. Another feature support me to run comfortably is 2 cooling fans. Thanks to these I don’t feel hesitate to run even in hot weather days anymore. These also simulate the airflow you could experience when running outside to make your workout more natural.

Support

In the terms of support, I receive much more benefits from this replacement. Thanks to the new iFit Live feature and 38 workout programs loaded on the machine, which focus on different aspects of my exercise routine, I never fall into the boring workouts like only with 15 programs of Yowza Fitness Daytona Professional. In addition to this, enjoying favorite music through great sound system or watching videos via iPod or other MP3 device plugged into the console sound system is a good way to make me forget fatigue. That helps create more motivate for me to train for longer time too.

Convenience

This machine is easy to assemble and use. It is very convenient for getting started with a one-touch incline and speed controls. I can just hit the number which corresponds to how high or how fast I want to be without having to hold down cumbersome buttons or scrolling through options. With the wireless chest strap heart monitor included on the machine, I can view my heart rate in real time. This helps me to track my heart rate at even high speeds without having to hold the hand sensors to decide whether I should increase intensity of my workout to meet my target heart rate or decrease it to avoid overtraining.

Unlike Yowza Fitness Daytona Professional treadmill, I can fold the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 and store it easily after using with the support of a small hydraulic piston. Other convenient features included on the machine are an adjustable tablet holder, integrated accessory tray with a workout fan to give trainee a third angle of cooling.

Performance

I always feel confident when training on this machine. Moreover, my friends who have used the 1750 Treadmill for several years have been very satisfied with its reliability and performance. Like the Yowza Fitness Daytona Professional, the motor runs very smoothly and quietly even at highest speeds. No shack and being very stable are my great experience with this replacement. Like other treadmills, the well- cushioned deck works well in reducing shock.

Especially, The WhisperQuiet durable design is used to absorb the sound caused by steps on the tread deck allowing me to do my workouts in the early morning without worrying about disturbing my neighbors. 15% incline and 3% decline feature indeed helps me burn more calories and tone different muscles groups than other normal treadmills. This reliable treadmill can handle user weight up to 300 lbs. Although this weight capacity is a bit below average because many treadmills I reviewed allow users weighing 350 pounds or more. It has still worked well for my 265 lbs weight. If you are runner like me, let try it to improve your training performance.

Quality and durability

Nordic Track is a reliable brand that is well-known to often provide high quality and durable machines, and the Commercial 1750 is no exception. It is well-constructed with strong motor, durable frame. As well as a 2-ply belt not only helps reduce friction and noise for a quieter workout but also last longevity of product.

Plus, the material used to make the belt is permeated with a proprietary lubricant to enhance the performance and longevity of the drive system. On the other hand, the motor and frame are both protected with a lifetime warranty, so you never have to worry about their durability. In fact, I have used it for 6 t0 7 months with five or six times a week but I haven’t seen any signs of tear or break. Moreover, the best warranty policy which I can’t find in other model at the same price also makes me peace in mind about the quality of the treadmill.

Use

The NordicTrack 1750 is a top option for even the busiest walker, jogger and runner. In the other words, its top speed of 12 MPH can accommodate every type of workout. Besides, as I mentioned above, the treadmill can burn more calories than other models so it is a good choice if you want to lose weight.

NordicTrack Commercial 2450

If you are looking for something with a little bigger screen and stronger motor but still maintain typical features of the 1750 then check out the NordicTrack Commercial 2450. This has many similar features to the 1750 such as 15 % incline and 3% decline, a top speed of 12 mph, a spacious 22″ x 60″ workout area equipped with 2.5″ rollers, Runner’s Flex cushioning, a 300 pound user weight capacity and so on. But in a little higher price point, the 2450 has better features including a 15″ HDTV instead of 7” display color and a stronger 4.0 CHP motor than 3.0 CHP motor on the 1750. Besides, this model also has more built-in workout programs compared to the 1750. The NordicTrack Commercial 2450 treadmill may be worth for the more serious user.

Horizon T203 Treadmill

The second model I want to mention as a good replacement for the 1750 is the Horizon T203 Treadmill. It also has 60” track which is ideal for runner to take long stride. Other similar features between 2 models are advanced cushioning system for more comfortable workout, different incline and decline levels, foldable feature, an attractive console, two-ply belt for extra comfort and durability and so on.

However, at cheaper price point, you can’t receive good features and quality with Horizon T203 like with the 1750. The quiet 2.75 HP motor is less than 3.0 HP motor of the 1750 but is till powerful enough for walking, jogging and running. 12% incline and 5% decline helps you burn more calories than standard treadmills. Despite having less workout programs than 38 programs on the 1750, 14 built-in programs loaded in this machine also focus on different aspects of exercise.

Especially, the T203 can withstand users weighing up to 350 pounds while the more expensive model like the 1750 just handle user weight under 300 lbs. Anyway, at a lower price, Horizon T203 is a good option for runner too.

Fitness TR 3000-HRC

Next similar model to the 1750 of Nordic Track is the Fitness TR 3000-HRC of LifeSpan. Also having price under $1500, this is a great option for home use. It comes with a powerful 2.75 continuous duty motor which can support speeds from 5 to 12 MPH. Although its 20- by 56-inch running belt is narrower than the one on the 1750 but it is still long enough for walkers, joggers or even light runners.

In the terms of durability, in addition to the strong motor and a durable frame withstanding users weighing up to 350 pounds and covered with a lifetime warranty, its belt has two-ply design equipped with 2.5-inch precision ground rollers in front, 2-inch rollers in the back for quiet operation and longer durability. Like Nordic Track Commercial 1750, LifeSpan Fitness TR 3000-HRC Treadmill has 15% decline too.

There are also many other similar features to the 1750 of Nordic Track you can find on the Fitness TR 3000-HRC such as quick buttons and handlebar control buttons for incline and speed, padded platforms for much easier on sensitive joints like the hips and knees or foldable feature for saving space.

Precor 9.33 treadmill

Another similar model to the 1750 of Nordic Track is the Precor 9.33 treadmill. The reason why I mention this model as a good replacement for the 1750 is that it also comes with a 3.0 HP continuous duty motor, Precor’s advanced cushioning, 15% incline level to help user burn calories more quickly, recruit more muscle and relieve strain on the knees.

However, because of its cheaper price compared to the 1750, other features of this model couldn’t be as good as of the Nordic Track’s treadmill. It only has 16 preset programs. These still provide great variety as you tackle goals for weight loss, endurance and heart health. But its 56” track length will not be long enough for tall runners. In short, if you want to have cheaper model than the 1750 of Nordic Track but having enough basic features and support for your training at home, the Precor 9.33 also should be considered.
