Although the treadmill doesn’t have too high price, it still provides users with necessary features to get effective training results at their home.

ProForm Power 995i description
The smooth and quiet a 3.0 HP motor (Mach Z Commercial Plus Motor) of ProForm 995i treadmill can reach speeds up to 12 MPH (in increments of 0.5 mph) and 0 - 15 digital incline allowing users to do any type of workout with results as expected. Overall, this motor is more powerful than many motors on other models at the price range under $1000 like Nautilus T614 or Horizon Fitness T101-04 Treadmill.
One of the better features of this treadmill compared to most others on the market is that its workout surface is quite a bit longer. The 20″ x 60″ tread belt is useful for those who are over 6 ft. tall.
The treadmill is built with 30 workout routines including 20 calorie burning and 10 workout routes that are designed by a Certified Personal Trainer. Each of them differs in incline and speed settings to be suitable for all levels of physical fitness. Besides, users can download additional workouts because the 995i Treadmill is wired for iFit Live.
iFit Enabled Technology
It gives users unlimited workouts and complete access to Google maps. In addition to access your iFit account directly from the treadmill, you can do that from your smartphone or personal computer. But on this model, this feature requires a separate module.
Display shows your workout information such as power in watts, incline level, heart rate, elapsed time, speed of walking belt, your calories burned, pace, and distance completed. The screen measured an impressive 7″ is much larger than ones on most treadmills available at under $1000. However, its screen display seems to be rather simplistic compared to its other competitors.
Product Dimensions: 85 x 32 x 14 inches and 225 pounds shipping weight while the newer model of it - ProForm PFTL99715 Power 995i Exercise Treadmill has dimensions at 88 x 32 x 14 inches and 224 pounds shipping weight.
ProForm Power 995i review
With 20″ by 60″ workout surface, I can be confident to stretch my strides more comfortably than when running on my old LifeSpan TR1200i Folding Treadmill. Especially, it is well-cushioned that provides me with very soft, smooth and comfortable runs.
One of the best aspects of the 995i is that it comes with a large number of accessories. In order to keep users motivated, the treadmill features iPod dock/mp3 capabilities equipped with Intermix Acoustics 3.0 speakers. These extra features let me listen to my favorite music with rich and powerful sound quality to keep my mind fresh during training process. Besides, the CoolAire workout fan with 2 speeds directed right at my face keep me stay cool even when I walk or run for long time.
Adjustable ProShox Elite 2 Cushioning found on the deck is advertised to protect user’s joints up to 15 percent more than walking or running on roads or pavements. I really love this support because I have felt better at my joints since using this machine. Especially, this cushioning system can be customized to match the forgiveness of a trail, or the firmness of a road. How useful it is! Its strong frame can withstand users weighing up to 350 LBS so it has indeed worked well with my 285 LBS of weight.
Moreover, while other models at this price range only offer 17 preset programs on LifeSpan TR1200i Folding Treadmill or 26 different workout programs on Schwinn 870 Treadmill, this ProForm treadmill supports 30 built-in workout programs, which is even more than the higher-end treadmills like the LifeSpan TR3000i. I also often comfortably enjoy downloaded workouts via iFit feature that make my training more interesting.
The digital controls available on the 995i are very easy to use. Especially QuickSpeed and QuickIncline buttons offer very quick adjustments. Like other popular treadmills, this unit let me track my workout data through the multi-window LED display. Plus, if you used to be running early in the morning or late at night, this LCD display is backlit to show all information in low light conditions clearly.
Conveniently, I can fold and store my machine easily and quickly with the support of EastLift Assist and SpaceSaver Design. Water bottle holder and integrated tablet holder are also convenient features included in this treadmill. However, beside dual hand grips included to monitor my pulse I expected this model to include the ability to use a chest strap heart rate monitor in order to make sure I am in my target heart zone.
The treadmill runs smoothly and quietly with a 3.0 CHP motor. No squeak, whistle, etc. It is quiet enough for me to do my workouts in the early morning without disturbing my child. The incline is quick to change and 15% (max) is more than enough to challenge the most enthusiastic runner. This has also helped improve my training performance as well as increase the amount of calories burned much more than when I just run on flat surfaces. The tread is centered, not creeped and the machine has not "stuttered" or "slipped" at all time I've run on it. The frame also seems to be very sturdy and stable even when I run at high speeds.
Quality and durability
I have owned ProForm Power 995i Treadmill for 10 months and I am very satisfied with my purchase. It is designed with a strong motor and sturdy frame. Although this model only has a 1 ply running belt because of it slightly low price, the belt equipped with 2.5" precision machined and balanced non-flex roller has been durable, cushioned and quiet enough for me to run on without any issues up to now. And in case it is worn out after a few years of use, you don’t need to replace the machine because actually ProForm sells replacement treadmill belts for their products.
But if you want to have 2-ply belt treadmill, you can spend more to buy the ProForm Pro 2000. In order to ensure the quality of product, the manufacture provides a solid warranty including a lifetime warranty on frame and motor, 3 years on parts and electronics and 1 year on labor. And you don’t worry too much about its quality because you will have a 30-day trial period with all products of ProForm. If the machine doesn’t work as you expect, you can return it.
The 12 different speeds and the wide and long running deck area can be used for any workout, whether you want to do a light jog or a full run. For me, this machine is ideal for my weight loss thanks to challenging workouts. I highly recommend it for beginners, walkers or even runners weighing less than 350 pounds.
Compare ProForm Power 995i Treadmill to other models
ProForm Performance 600C
At the similar price to the 995i treadmill, the Performance 600C has some similar features to it. Firstly, I realized that both models come with a large number of extra features such as Cool-Aire Fan, iPod compatible audio with nice speakers, iFit enabled technology or SpaceSaver Design to make user’s training easier and more comfortable.
Another similar feature between two models is that they have a 60″ x 20″ workout space with the support of advanced cushioning system of ProForm. These cushioning systems not only provide an excellent comfort but also a great joints protection. However, the ProForm Performance 600C has a 2.75 HP while the 995i has 3.0 one. But both motors can reach a top speed up to 12 MPH. Additionally, the 995i seems to have many better features than the 600C such as a wider incline range, much more workout programs, larger display screen as well as higher weight capacity.
LifeSpan TR1200i Folding Treadmill
Also coming at price under $1000, LifeSpan TR1200i Folding Treadmill is also considered as one of the most popular choice among customers. However, in the comparison with the 995i, there are some differences. Firstly, the TR1200i only has 2.5 HP motor which can reach a top speed of 11 MPH. However, this model still offers an incline range from 0 to 15 %. The running surface of the treadmill is 20" x 56" that is shorter than on the 995i.
Compared to the ProForm treadmill, this product of LifeSpan only offers 300 lbs weight capacity and less Built-In Programs. The better feature of this model than the 995i is that it has more durable two-ply tread-belt. The machine has smaller size so it seems to be more suitable for narrow spaces.

Schwinn 870 Treadmill
Another similar model to ProForm Power 995i Treadmill is Schwinn 870 Treadmill. Both models are designed with 3.0 CHP motor which can support 0 to 12 MPH speed range and 0 to 15% incline range. The Schwinn 870 Treadmill also has a 20-Inch x 60-Inch belt equipped with 2.5-Inch crowned rollers for enhanced durability. The softtrack cushioning featured on the running surface helps you run comfortably with less strain and stress on your body after your workout.
Additionally, the deck of the machine can be folded easily with the support of SoftDrop folding system. Conveniently, you also get a USB charging point to listen to some music with nice acoustic speakers and charge your phone at the same time. However, this unit only supports users not over 300 pounds.
the ProForm Power 995i is a great mid-range level treadmill which is designed with many of the latest features with a solid warranty. The treadmill will certainly provide you with more things you expect to get with the money you paid for it.
