Most treadmills are simply designed to work your lower body but not to work the upper body. So you have to often use some other equipment to work these body parts. However, with Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T Treadmill, you don’t need to use any other support for working your upper body. This is a great reason why this treadmill is always a favorite choice for home use. Let take a closer look at this product in this post.
Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T Description
16" x 47"
Two adjustable position
Large LCD Window
Labor: 90 days
Parts: 90 days
It comes with a 2.25 HP Impulse O motor, which is not one of the most powerful types of motor. In others word, it is quite low and small in torque. However, it can reach a top speed up to 10 MPH.
The incline settings are a useful addition. With two different settings, you can change the degree of the incline from 0 to 8%. It will bring certain efficiency to your workouts. However, you must get off the machine to change the incline manually that is not convenient.
With the tread belt at 16 x 50 – inches (W x L), this treadmill offers a wide and long enough workout surface for walkers of all heights. Compare to other at the same price range like Exerpeutic TF1000 or Confidence Power Plus, this surface is much wider.
This is one of special features of the Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T treadmill that offer users extra workout possibilities for the upper body and arms while using the treadmill. The tension of them can be adjusted to supply a less or more consistent workout. Unlike the ones found on the elliptical machines, the mobile arms on the 5.2T will remain stationary if you don’t use them for your workout.
The Crosswalk 5.2T treadmill is designed with a basic console, with 4 workout programs. The LCD screen display is built in the machine allowing you to track your common workout data such as speed level, distance, time, calories burned and heart rate. It is extremely easy to use too. There are Start and Stop buttons which you can use to pause or start the workout. The console also has Up and Down arrow keys with short press (adjust the speed by 0.1 MPH) and long press (0.5 MPH.) functions for gradual speed adjustment.
This model is loaded with four pre-loaded workout programs built into the console: 2 focusing on performance, and 2 on weight loss. Each preset program has its own key to adjust the speed.
Heart Rate Monitoring
Users can monitor their heart rate through a thumb sensor on the Crosswalk 5.2t Treadmill. Some people said that it is not as accurate as grip sensors provided by its competition. And it is more difficlut to keep their thumb on the sensor while walking or jogging.
Dimensions and weight
The treadmill has a footprint of approx 68″L x 29″W (173 x 76.3 cm) when in use and 30″L x 29″W (76 x 73 cm) when being folded. In the terms of weight, it’s not too heavy machine. At 127 lbs, anyone can move it.
Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T Review
The workout surface in this treadmill let me stretch my stride comfortably when walking. But if you are taller walkers or want to run on it, this surface seems to be a bit restricted like you are walking on the edge of the belt. In the terms of comfort, it is well-cushioned with a one-cell cushioning system to give me very soft steps.
The mobile arms are also finished with rubberized handles so I have always received a comfortable grip.
However, there isn’t a built-in MP3 compatibility so you won’t be able to enjoy your favorite music through the built-in speakers. But you can place your smart phone next to the display to play your music during your workouts for fresher mind.
While users often intend to neglect one body part or another when training on normal treadmill, but with Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T Treadmill you can easily concentrate on both your lower and upper body at the same time. It is thanks to a patented CrossWalk upper-body resistance technology. This is two extra handles like the ones found on elliptical machines. You can build lean muscle mass while increasing your calorie burn using this feature.
Moreover, the deck of the unit integrates a one-cell cushioning system that not only offers flexibility for more comfortable and effective walks but reduces large amount of the impact on my joints as well.
Another supportive feature is that the front part of the frame resting on 4 rubberized feet indeed provides an excellent grip to the floor to enhance the stability of the machine even when running at the highest speeds.
Firstly, assembling this machine is actually easy. It took me not more than 45 mins. Conveniently, the treadmill has a compact design to take up very little space when being in use, and even less space when being folded after each training process.
Besides, this treadmill can be easily moved thanks to integrated caster wheels. The 5.2T features an EasyPulse™ which helps me monitor my heart rate throughout each workout rather simple.
Instead of putting both thumbs on handlebar sensors at the same time, I just put my thumb over the heart rate sensor on the front panel and receive a clear, quick reading. Plus, there are two storage areas conveniently designed on either side of the main display, which allow you to store your water bottle or your smart phone.
Lastly, like other treadmills the 5.2T also let me track my workout data easily via the friendly console display.
The motor of this model runs very powerful and smooth if your weight is not over its maximum weight capacity. Many cheap machines only provide a weight capacity under 200 pounds. The strong frame as well as a powerful motor of Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T can withstand the weight of individuals up to 250 pounds. I have 230 pounds of weight and was pleased to feel that it could handle me so well.
However, if you are heavier, I would like to recommend ProForm Performance 300 with higher weight capacity. Especially, the mobile arms really help me save time by reduce the need to do different workouts for different parts of the body.
They combined with two incline settings also promote my metabolism for weight loss compared to only walking. Moreover, it runs very quietly and stably too. When operating, it only emits a soft noise.
Quality and durability
The deck has a quite sturdy construction. It’s sturdy enough to sustain not just walking or jogging but running workouts as well. Additionally, the deck is equipped with precision crowned rollers and high-grade ball bearings for enhanced longevity. When it comes to the belt, it is 1-ply Sandblast heavy-duty model which is pre-lubricated with high-grade industrial lubricant. Therefore it is highly durable and doesn’t require lubrication for a long time.
On the other hand, the frame of this treadmill is also made of steel which is considered as the most durable materials used to produce frames in the market. But I will not say this is a high quality product. And because of its inexpensive price you can’t require a nice warranty like on other more expensive models. It only includes 90 days warranty on parts & labor.

The Weslo Cross Walk 5.2T treadmill is a well-built treadmill especially designed for walking and jogging but not for running. I found that this is great for light to medium muscle toning, cardio workouts, interval training, stamina building, and weight loss. And thanks to its integrated mobile arms, it also offers a decent workout for your upper body or arms. However, if you’re looking for high performance and powerful machine you should look elsewhere. This machine is not strong or fast enough for athletes to do sprinting or marathon training.
Just at a cheap price this machine of Weslo is well-built and sturdy that provides me with the same full body workout as other professional machines. I will continue believing in this product until changing into another heavier type of training.
Compare Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T Treadmill to other models
Weslo Cadence R 5.2
Both models are produced by the Weslo and they have many similar specs. They include 2.25 HP motor with a top speed of 10 MPH, a 50″ long x 16″ wide track, a folding design, 250 LBS weight capacity as well as manual incline feature.
However, the R 5.2 can be inclined up to 15%. These models all come at the price range under $500 and are specially designed for walking, jogging not for running.
Another better feature found on the R 5.2 compared to the 5.2T is that it is loaded with 6 built-in workout programs. But the clearest difference between these models is the 5.2T comes with mobile arms proving a decent workout for the upper body or arms which is not included on the R 5.2 treadmill.
Sunny Health & Fitness
Sunny Health & Fitness is other model which I would like to make comparison with the Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T. This is also a great option under $500. It comes with a 2.20 HP motor that can support a top speed of 9 MPH, 15.75″ wide and 48.82″ long track size and 220 pounds weight limit. Generally, these specs are a little lower than the 5.2T.
Besides, The Sunny Health & Fitness Treadmill features a 3-level manual incline with the steepest setting just at 5%. However, I found that this model has more built-in programs compared to the 5.2T.
Anyway, I still highly recommend the Weslo Crosswalk 5.2T Treadmill for training at home more than the Sunny Health & Fitness treadmill.

ProForm Performance 300
At a little bit higher price than 5.2T treadmill, ProForm Performance 300 is considered as one of the best treadmills at the price range under $500. Overall, this model has many better specs compared to Weslo treadmill if not telling about mobile arms on the 5.2T.
Firstly, it comes with a stronger motor (2.75 HP) which can reach a top speed up to 10 MPH.
Especially, instead of inconvenient manual incline feature found on the 5.2T, the ProForm Performance 300 offers an automatic incline 0 - 10%. Plus, its workout surface is also a little wider at 18”. This machine provides up to 300 lbs weight capacity and 16 built-in workout programs. Despite only having the price under $500, the ProForm Performance 300 still features 2″ speakers to play MP3s. If you can spend more, I suggest you choosing ProForm Performance 300.
